With four people in my office chanting \u201cDo it! <\/span>Do it!\u201d I pressed the send button. <\/span>Last Friday afternoon, I forwarded the Business Week article <\/a>to Bill Gates. <\/span>I highlighted the first sentence of the article that mentioned my name and my blog, and, most importantly, I highlighted the last sentence of the first paragraph that read, \u201cAnd Bill Gates is happy.\u201d <\/span>I jokingly wrote, \u201cI hope this isn\u2019t a misquote =)\u201d in the body of the email.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It was awesome to grab my coworkers on Monday morning saying, \u201ccome check out this mail\u201d just to see the look on their faces (and to here their expletives of course). <\/span>Before I knew it, I had a small crowd in my office applauding and cheering. <\/span>Saurabh <\/a>forwarded the mail around to our product unit. <\/span>Lots of people have been telling me congratulations. <\/span>The email hangs outside my door with \u201cReal!\u201d handwritten above the header. The whole experience was pretty funny.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Business Week article Blogging with the Boss\u2019s Blessing<\/a> now appears to be available publicly (no subscription required). <\/span>It should comes out in print really soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
